About the Forum
We know that Minnesotans value our state’s lakes, rivers and streams. We also know that the challenges that threaten our water quality and supply are plentiful and will continue to grow. The Environmental Quality Board’s 2010 State Water Plan and the University of Minnesota Water Resources Center’s Water Sustainability Framework Project represent the culmination of many years of collaborative efforts to protect, maintain and restore Minnesota’s vital water resources and will present a roadmap for water policy in the coming decades.

As our community looks to advance a shared vision for sustainable water use, engagement from a broad array of stakeholders will be critical. Join us for a first look at the work products that will inform the future of Minnesota water policy, and a conversation with key stakeholders as they share their reactions and predictions for what the next chapter of water policy may have in store.

Informal tabletop discussions following the program will allow for more in-depth discussion around specific water topics and input will be fed back into the Framework before the final recommendations are presented to the state legislature in January 2011.
