EPA Category 4b Briefing

NOTE:  The MPCA’s 303(d) impaired waters list defines Category 4B waters as “Impaired, but a TMDL study is not required because water quality standards are expected to be met in the near future.”  A number of public and private organizations are looking to Category 4B as an option for addressing impaired waters without having to go through the full TMDL process.

MPCA has organized a briefing on Category 4b demonstrations with EPA Region 5 staff from Chicago.  They will provide an overview of 4b requirements and answer questions.  We will also provide information on the MPCA’s process for receiving and reviewing 4b requests.

The briefing will take place in the board room at the MPCA offices at 520 Lafayette Road North in St. Paul.  Visitor parking information is available at:
